Speaking of baobabs. Do you know how this famous tree got its unique shape? As legend has it, the baobab is one of the oldest trees in the world, followed by the slender and elegant palm tree. When the baobab first saw the palm tree it moaned, „I want to be slim too!" Next to appear was the flamboyant with its magnificent red blossoms. Of course the baobab wanted to bloom as well. As it finally saw the beautiful fig, it prayed for fruits. The gods got very angry with the discontented baobab. To silence it, they pulled it up by the roots and replanted it with its top down.
