HEALTH Thabankulu is situated in a malaria-free zone. For miner health problems we are all set.
The town of Lephalae (Ellisras), about 75 km from Thabankulu, is medically well provided with doctors and a private hospital. However, we would recommend you to take out a private health insurance for full coverage.
It is vital that you bring your personal medication, as prescribed by your doctor.
If you should need a special diet, please inform us when booking.
GUNS AND AMMUNITION Hunting guests, who wish to bring their own rifles, shotguns respectively ammunition to Thabankulu, are required to register them at the "South African Police Department Office" in the immigration area of Johannesburg International Airport. We are prepared to inform you in advance about the valid regulations and send you the applicable forms for registration.
PRICES / TERMS OF PAYMENT Our prices are per head/day: One hunters and one professional hunter | € 450,-- | Two hunters and one professional hunter | € 400,-- | Escort/non hunters (1 – 2 persons) | € 350,-- | Escort/non hunters (3 – 5 persons) | € 300,-- | Non hunters (6 – 10 persons) | € 250,-- | All prices include V.A.T. and all other legal taxes and fees. Prices and terms can be subject to changes. We therefore reserve the right to inform you of possible changes in written form. This daily rate contains full-time support from our manager/professional hunter and from Thabankulu’s staff, in addition to accommodation, full board (including beer and alcoholic drinks) and laundry service. The transfers from, respectively to Johannesburg, as well as the field preparation of the trophies are included in the price. Your company or non hunters will be able to choose between two activities a day, either game drives, excursions on our house boat or trips into the farmland. Dipping and crating of the trophies as well as tips are not included. If you should wish to hunt kudus, you’ll have to book for a minimum of seven days. Nyala ,bushbuck and eland hunts can only be carried out during a stay of at least twelve days, the same goes for combined hunts. Safaris count as booked and affirmed as soon as we have received a prepayment of 40 percent of the basic accommodation rate. We regret to say that without this prepayment we can’t guarantee a reservation for your chosen period of time. The remaining 60 percent of the payment have to be settled 45 days before your arrival at the latest. Cancellations are only binding when they are submitted in written form. Full prepayments can be accredited for a safari at a future date (based on a possibly changed price list). Prepayments in the amount of 50 per cent and more will be fully refunded when we receive your cancellation 12 weeks before the beginning of booking. We preferably accept traveller’s cheques (€ and USD). The accounting can also be made with credit cards (American Express, Visa, Master Card or Diners Club). Please notice that we do not take personal cheques as means of payment.
LANGUAGE The main languages spoken in Thabankulu are English and Afrikaans. To converse with the staff you will need basic knowledge of English.
RESPONSIBILITY During your stay at Thabankulu we will concentrate all of our efforts on protecting you and your belongings. However, we assume no liability for accidents, injuries, damages, illness or loss of life and property caused during, or rather by your inhabitation of our farm. CATERING Before hunting or your morning game drive, we offer you hot drinks, juices and small snacks.
Later in the morning you'll meet for a luscious brunch.
Five o'clock tea is served in the pool house.
The three-course dinners are arranged in advance according to your wishes.
Small snacks and fruit are available at any time.
